Tranent woman attacked employee at the town’s Post Office



A POST Office employee was assaulted by a Tranent woman following an altercation within her store.

Shannon Thomson was grabbed by the body and had her shirt ripped by Coleen Alexander during an incident at the Post Office at the town’s Winton Place.

Alexander, of Meetinghouse Drive, also scratched Ms Thomson to the chest during the struggle, to her injury.

The 38-year-old appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last Tuesday, where she pleaded guilty to assaulting the Post Office worker on May 17 last year.

Sheriff John Cook sentenced Alexander to carry out 60 hours of unpaid work in the community as punishment.
