Niamh Wright banned from contacting ex-partner after making threats
A WALLYFORD woman has been banned from contacting her former boyfriend after she threatened to damage his car and sent him a threatening letter.
Niamh Wright, of Affleck Rise, engaged in a course of conduct that was abusive of the man over a 20-month period.
Wright admitted to making demands of him and making threats to vandalise his car.
The 22-year-old also threatened to commit suicide if he did not resume their relationship and sent him a video of burning letters.
She also sent her former partner a threatening letter during the abusive course of behaviour, which took place between May 1, 2019, and January 28, 2021.
Wright pleaded guilty to the offending at Wildflower Crescent in Ormiston when she appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last year.
She returned to the dock for sentencing last Thursday, where Sheriff Daniel Kelly granted her an admonition on the charge.
The sheriff also warned Wright of her future conduct and imposed a two-year non-harassment order banning her from having any contact with her former partner.
The Crown had previously accepted a not guilty plea to a charge of Wright assaulting her former partner by grabbing him by the hair and on the body at the Ormiston address on December 30, 2020.
