Longniddry Angel Tree helps wishes come true
More than £2,000 has been raised by Longniddry and District Rotary Club to help children in need over the festive period thanks to the Angel Tree Appeal.
Angel trees were available in libraries across the county, giving the age, gender and Christmas wish of a child in need in the community.
Members of the public were able to read the messages and give gifts that the Rotary club, in conjunction with the Pennypit Trust, would ensure reached the child that wrote them.
The £2,000 was made up of a mix of gifts, donations and gift cards to lighten up Christmas for the less fortunate in the community.
A spokesperson for the club said: “You have made many Christmas wishes come true.
“Longniddry and District Rotary are delighted to let you know that over £2,000 was raised in our Angel Tree Appeal.
“Our aim was to make some Christmas wishes come true for less fortunate children and young teenagers.”
