Charity ANAM CARA launches workshops to help women
A CHARITY supporting women who have experienced addiction, depression and domestic violence is running a series of workshops.
ANAM CARA is unveiling its new course model for the first time to women in East Lothian.
The new workshop has been researched and developed by the ANAM CARA team, who took all services online during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Ten online workshops were held, as well as a befriending service, one-to-one support and signposting for further services.
The new course will cover three areas of self-focus: fear; courage; and courage over fear.
With a range of sub-topics, the workshops will allow women to strengthen their techniques when dealing with different and often difficult situations.
Maria Martin, who founded the charity, encouraged people to head along to the first workshop on March 14 at Haddington’s John Gray Centre.
She said: “Having supported over 280 ladies from East Lothian throughout the lockdown period, we are now delighted to be able to offer live workshops once more.
“Although our online workshops were hugely successful, we are excited to once again hold our live workshop, sharing our new workshop model with the women and helping them make a positive change to their future.”
